Eugene Tossany is the chosen pen name of a U.S. author who started her editorial journey in third grade. After pursuing life and achieving accolades, awards and an Army Commendation Medal, Eugene picked up the pen again, in 2019. After the birth of her Down Syndrome daughter and after living in Israel, she crafted an inspirational manuscript, citing experiences, ancient research and wisdom, as well as a creative perspective from her indirect Literary Mentor, Stephen King.
We absolutely adore our Down Syndrome community and the groups who support them. They are a source of strength, even in the most uncertain times. Please check back often for highlights and features from our community and beyond.
I started writing The Down Syndrome Superhero during the beginning of 2019 and continued for 7 months. The characters seemed to bring themselves to life, with a vivacity that was really inspiring. During this time, our youngest daughter was experiencing some health issues and writing became a great creative outlet.
